Acts 16: 23 And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. 24 Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.
Paul and Silas knew how to capture the attention of Heaven. They knew the power of thanksgiving and understood that the sound of high praise was the key to lifting their hearts above their situation into the presence and power of God. Not only did their chains fall off, but everyone’s chains fell off!
Now personally we don’t want to receive stripes and be thrown in prison but we long for Zagreb to experience freedom. Metaphorically speaking, the people of Zagreb have also been beaten and thrown into prison.
Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.
