Some of you have heard me describe my deep encounter regarding Is. 37:3:
“They said to him, “This is what Hezekiah says: ‘Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace, for children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.”
In the past few moths we have literally experienced the beginnings of “the children coming to birth”. Since our first – Ana contacting us and coming into the Kingdom, we have seen a somewhat steady stream of children coming to birth. We received this word about Isaiah 37:3 as a challenge. The sad reality of the Body of Christ in Southeastern Europe, is that by-in-enlarge there is no strength to “deliver the children” even if they are born The process to lead new christian babies to maturity is rare. The structure and safety for development of new believers is hard to find. Please do not misunderstand, there are places where it does exist to various degrees, but it is the exception not the norm. This is not meant to be criticism but most congregations are very small and resources (not just financial) are a challenge.
This is what the Spirit of God was highlighting to me in this passage. We at the IST Group are leaning in to God more, to pray more fervently for the Body of Christ and to take a look at what are things we need to do or perhaps adjust in order to help in the delivery and discipling of the coming new believers. We are taking the challenge head on, and we continue to disciple the ones God is bringing to us through weekly studying the word of God, fellowship and simply doing life together. We are finding that there are young people who are hungry for the true expression of Christ. They are “the children coming to the point of birth” in Isaiah 37:3. May this nation and the whole region prepare for the outpouring that is to come.
